Concentration Requirements

After successful completion of the first-year core coursework, students can pursue a Concentration in Finance by completing specific classes.

Law School Courses

Several courses conducted at the Yale Law School can be matriculated while at SOM. They can provide a detailed view of selected topics and a new perspective on many practical applications of finance.

  • Business Organizations - a survey of corporate law focusing on agency relations of publicly owned corporations
  • Corporate Taxation - reviews the tax consequences of forming a corporation, reorganizations, and other corporate transactions
  • Law and Economics of Corporate Control - topics include hostile takeovers, proxy contests, leveraged buyouts, and corporate governance issues
  • Negotiated Mergers and Acquisitions - topics include structuring, valuing, and pricing the deal, allocating liabilities and risks, and the duties of directors
