Courses Of Interest Outside of SOM
The Double Bottom Line SIG has compiled a list of courses that
may be of interest to the members of the Double Bottom Line SIGs.
The courses are listed by school:
These courses are not offered every semester, so students should
check course listings at the start of the semester for availability.
SOM students who take courses offered by another school at Yale
University must comply with any enrollment policies, restrictions,
and/or deadlines imposed by the school offering the course. Information
about course enrollment policies for each school at Yale is available
in the Office of Student Affairs. Students must notify the SOM registrar
of their enrollment (or proposed enrollment) in a non-SOM course
by filing an Add/Drop form within the first two weeks of the term
in which the course is offered. Similarly, if the student subsequently
drops the course, an Add/Drop form must be filed with the SOM registrar
prior to midterm.
Students normally may not take Yale College courses for credit
toward the MBA degree. However, there may be special circumstances
that call for exceptions to this policy (e.g., a student interested
in international management wishing to take a language course).
In such circumstances, the student may petition the dean of student
affairs for permission to take the course. Petition forms are available
in the Office of Student Affairs. Until a completed petition form
is filed and approval is given by the dean of student affairs, the
course will not be added to the student's record. The credit to
be awarded for non-SOM courses will be determined by the registrar,
in consultation with the dean of student affairs. Students will
normally receive the same number of units or credits at SOM as are
awarded in the other school, with a maximum of 4 units of credit
at SOM per course.
