What is Yale SOM Net Impact?

The Yale SOM Net Impact provides education and career guidance for SOM students interested in pursuing careers in non-profit management, the public sector, and socially responsible business.

The Yale SOM Net Impact club brings the following to the SOM community

  • A weekly newsletter with everything Net Impact-related taking place at YALE and SOM
  • Conferences on topics such as Education and Philanthropy
  • A Socially Responsible Business case competition for first-year students
  • Career panels and job treks
  • Advocacy regarding curriculum, admissions, career development, and all other administration decisions

If you're interested in being involved in Net Impact at SOM, we encourage you to join the national organization. Annual membership dues are only $25 and the benefits are many, including a great job board, reduced conference registration fees, networking opportunities and interesting publications. National Net Impact Annual Conference The Annual Net Impact Conference will take place in Nashville, TN on November 1-3. The Conference includes keynote speakers, panel discussions, networking opportunities, case competitions, debates and more. The curriculum focuses this year on the following themes: Corporate impact, leadership & career, the social sector, business and the environment, the business of health, and international development. Yale SOM Net Impact Chosen First Runner-Up Chapter of the Year for 2006!

At the Net Impact Conference held in Chicago Yale SOM took home the honors of first runner-up Chapter of the Year, in a close race with University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. SOM put in another strong showing, after winning the top honors last year.

11:30am-1pm PONPO Seminar: Pricing in the Nonprofit Sector: Nava Ashraf, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School - A30
The controversy over whether and how much to charge for health products in the developing world rests, in part, on whether higher prices can increase use. Dr. Ashraf's research combines psychology and economics, using both lab and field experiments to test insights from behavioral economics in the context of development projects in the Philippines, Kenya and Zambia. Her experiments address intra-household decision making, micro-finance and savings mobilization, and social marketing. To RSVP, click here.
