2007 BRAZIL >> SUMMARY of PROJECTS
spoleto Endeavor-Spoleto Franchising
  • Spoleto, started by an Endeavor entrepreneur, first opened its doors in 1999 and currently is on a strong expansion development stage.  Since 1999 Spoleto has opened 150 stores in Brazil, where it serves more than 600,000 meals per month.  Of those, 15 are company-owned stores and the remaining are franchised stores.

    Deliverables:

  • Researching of several international markets where Spoleto could enter (size, key players, franchise operators, competitors)
  • Benchmarking with similar companies as to how best to structure an International Department.
  • pro crianca

    Pró Criança Cardíaca

  • In 1991 Dr. Rosa created a private clinic – the Clínica Cardiológica Infantil (CCI) - dedicated to the diagnosis and clinical treatment of children with heart problems.  In 2006 it tended to 9,278 children, performed 672 cardiac surgeries and thousands of complementary exams for the diagnosis of heart diseases, dental treatment and a wide range of social services.  This year it is working even harder to build a hospital (The Children’s Hospital) dedicated to treating children with heart disease- a non profit hospital with a business plan that allows the paying public patients to offset the costs of the charity work.

    Deliverables:
  • Creation of a business plan to share with potential funders and related stakeholders
  • Design of a fundraising strategy

  •   Instituto Pe no Chao
  • IPC’s mission is to defend, preserve and conserve the environment and the cultural diversity of its populations by promoting sustainable development.  The project for which GSE was requested was Amigos da Mata®, in English, Friends of the Forrest™. The idea was to reforest degraded areas and enrich other less degraded ones - bordering Rios’ State Park - with tree species. While diversifying the local produce the project would contribute to the survival of numerous bird and animal species that are quickly vanishing from this vitally diverse rainforest area.

    Deliverables:
  • Plan for connecting and marketing to middle class and upward urban city dwellers through individual or family participation of tree sponsorship.

  • afroreggae

    Afro Reggae

  • Afro Reggae aims to promote social justice and social inclusion using art and Afro-Brazilian culture and education to bridge differences and create the foundation with which to build sustainability and exercise citizenship.

    Deliverables:
  • Proposal for using microcredit for the benefit of social entrepreneurs from the favelas in which Afro Reggae works.
  • Analysis of existing schemes in Brazil and simple explanations and guidelines as to how to possibly set up such a system.
