Shawn Liu (SOM `07), Founder, Hillhouse Tailors

Shawn launched Hillhouse Tailors upon graduating the Yale School of Management in 2007. His first customers were fellow SOM classmates, and business has expanded widely since then. The concept of the company is to service its clients with custom, tailored dress shirts at an affordable price and quick turnaround. Hillhouse Tailors has multi-level sales channels, including retail partners, e-retail platform, and customer direct. Its product is supported by an international supply chain.

Prior to attending SOM, Shawn worked for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, forecasting U.S. monetary aggregates that impacted the Federal Funds market. At Yale, Shawn was a co-leader of the Greater China Club, the Community Service Club, and represented the School of Management as a Student Senator. He hopes to foster the entrepreneurial spirit at Yale.
