Net Impact‘s panel: “Engaging Business in Public Health: Opportunities and Challenges”: An exciting panel filled with entrepreneurs that may be of interest to many of you. December 3, 11:30 – 1:00 PM, GM room. Panelists will discuss the intersect of entrepreneurship, communications, and business models as methods to tackle public health crisis in developing world like HIV/AIDS. Free Lunch is provided – Speakers include: Scott Case (COO of Malaria No More who was a co-founder of Priceline.com, the "Name Your Own Price" Internet service), Kaakpema Yelpaala (EPH ’06 is the Founder and Chairman of Network for the Improvement of World Health), Amy Lockwood (Director of The Clinton Foundation’s Pediatric HIV/AIDS Initiative) and Victor Barnes (Director of the Corporate Council on Africa HIV/AIDS Initiative). Moderated by: Prof. Elizabeth Bradley (Professor and Director of International Health Program and Health Management Program at Yale School of Public Health).

Yale Law and Business Society (YLBS) - Entrepreneurship Challenge (EC) "Meet and Greet" Event: Wednesday, December 5th – 7:00pm. Location: Sterling Law Building, Room 128. The Entrepreneurship Challenge is an opportunity to compete for unlimited equity financing to start a full-fledged, full-sized business. Open to all Undergrad, Grad, and Professional Students. No business experience necessary! (Each team entering the Entrepreneurship Challenge must have at least one Yale Law Student member.) Y2K Speaker Series: Social Entrepreneurship on a Global Scale: A Discussion with Three Entrepreneurs Who Are Changing the World. Thursday, December 6th, 7:30pm-8:30pm. Entrepreneurs: Ruth Degolia (Mercado Global: Co-Founder and Executive Director of a preeminent non-profit free trade organization), Socheata Poeuv (Khmer Legacies: Director of the documentary, "New Year Baby" documenting the Khmer Rouge genocide), Peter Haas (Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group: Founder and Executive Director of AIDG, which helps developing communities obtain affordable and environmentally sound access to electricity, sanitation, and clean water).
