GoCrossCampus coming to SOM: Friends, Romans, Countrymen! On April 3rd, the City of New Haven will be taken by storm. On April 3rd, the Yale School of Management will commence an epic battle. On April 3rd, the ultimate showdown of leadership, courage, strategy, and diplomacy will begin! GoCrossCampus , the student-run, venture-backed web startup company recently featured in the New York Times and founded last year by Yale undergrads, is coming to SOM. Join forces with your class-cohort compatriots, organize your team, conduct diplomatic envoys, spy on your rivals, and develop your strategy. The object of the game? To conquer a map of the city of New Haven, on a team with the rest of your class-cohort. It's all online, and only takes 5 minutes a day to play. It's like the game of RISK, intramural sports, grand strategy, and social networking all rolled into one. And all coming to SOM, starting today during Happy Hour. Ready your defenses, begin plotting for victory, and prepare for glory!

2008 Rice University Business Plan Competition: April 3-5, 2008. The Competition is hosted by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University. Thirty-six teams from top MBA programs will be selected to compete at Rice University, in Houston Texas, for over $345,000 in prizes; including an investment opportunity of $100,000 for the grand prize winner, $100,000 in cash that will be distributed among all 36 teams, and the opportunity to advance to the international finals of the MOOT CORP® competition. Perspectives on Venture Capital: The Rise of the Young Entrepreneur event: Yale School of Management Entrepreneurship Club along with Yale Entrepreneurial Institute and the Yale Entrepreneurial Society is sponsoring the Perspectives on Venture Capital: The Rise of the Young Entrepreneur event on April 9, 2008 (Wednesday) in the GM Room from 6pm-8pm with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists on the panel. SABF Speaker Series: Gautam Prakash (Monsoon Capital): Monday, April 14th. Gautam Prakash is founder and Managing Director of Monsoon Capital, an alternative asset management firm dedicated to India. The firm currently manages Monsoon India Inflection Fund, a $1.4 billion hedge fund investing in mid-market Indian companies using a private equity-like approach. Mr. Prakash holds a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University, summa cum laude, with Distinction in Economics. SABF Speaker Series: Ranjit Pandit (General Atlantic LLC): April 17 2008. Ranjit Pandit is a Managing Director at General Atlantic LLC. He is located in General Atlantic’s Mumbai office, where he focuses on growth investment initiatives in the India market. Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2007, Mr. Pandit served as chief of McKinsey & Company, India, where he served a number of major U.S. and other global companies in a variety of areas, including corporate governance/leadership, change management, corporate finance, alliances, technology management, manufacturing, marketing, sales and logistics. Mr. Pandit holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BE degree in electrical engineering from VJTI, University of Bombay, India.
